Privacy Policy

TimeKeeper is a personal work-attendance tracker. It lets you mark each day as Work-From-Office, Work-From-Home, Leave, or Holiday and track an office allowance. This policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled. By using TimeKeeper you agree to this policy.

Information we access

• Basic Google profile — when you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. These identify your account and are shown in the app; they are not stored on any TimeKeeper server, with one exception: if you turn on the optional daily reminder, your email address is kept in the reminder registry described below for as long as reminders are enabled.
• Attendance you enter — the day statuses, allowance amount, currency, and weekly-off days you set in the app.
• Your device location — only if you turn on auto-marking by location, and only while the app is open. See the section below.

Where your data is stored

TimeKeeper has no database of its own. Your attendance and settings are stored in a single private spreadsheet that the app creates in your own Google Drive. That spreadsheet lives in your Drive under your control — you can open, edit, export, or delete it in Google Sheets at any time. The only thing kept outside your Drive is the small reminder registry described in the next section, and only if you opt in to daily reminders.

Auto-marking by location (optional)

This feature is off until you enable it, and your browser will ask for permission before TimeKeeper ever reads your location.

• Two saved points — the coordinates and radius you save for Home and Office. They are stored as ordinary rows in the Settings tab of your own spreadsheet, in your own Drive, exactly like your allowance and weekly-off days. You can view or delete them in Google Sheets, or clear them in Settings.
• No location history — when the app is open it takes a single reading, compares it to your two saved points, and discards it. Nothing about where you are or where you have been is written to your spreadsheet, sent to any TimeKeeper server, or added to the reminder registry. Only the resulting day status is saved, identically to tapping the button yourself — and at home nothing is saved at all until you answer whether you are working or on leave.
• Only while the app is open — web apps cannot read your location in the background, so TimeKeeper cannot and does not track you when it is closed.

Daily reminders (optional)

If you turn on the daily reminder in Settings, TimeKeeper stores a small record in a private reminder registry controlled by the app operator, so the reminder can be sent when the app isn't open:

• Your email address — to link your devices to your reminder preferences.
• A push subscription per device — the delivery address and keys your browser generates for notifications. It can only be used to send you notifications; it grants no access to your device or data.
• Your weekly-off days and the last date you marked — so reminders are skipped on days off and days you've already marked. Your actual statuses (Office, Home, Leave, Holiday) are never stored in the registry.

Reminders are delivered through your platform's push service (Apple or Google); the notification content does not include any of your attendance data. If you never enable reminders, nothing is stored in the registry at all. Turning the reminder off removes that device's subscription, and when your last device is removed the entire record — including your email — is deleted.

Google account permissions

TimeKeeper requests only the drive.file Google Drive scope, together with your basic sign-in profile (openid, email, profile). The drive.file scope grants access only to the single spreadsheet the app itself creates. TimeKeeper cannot see, read, or touch any other file in your Google Drive.

TimeKeeper's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data obtained through Google APIs is used solely to provide and improve the app's attendance-tracking features and is never sold or transferred to third parties, used for advertising, or read by humans except as required for security or to comply with the law.

How the app handles your session

Signing in creates an encrypted session cookie in your browser used only to keep you signed in. Your Google access token is held inside that encrypted session and used server-side to read and write your spreadsheet; it is never exposed to other parties. TimeKeeper does not use analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers.

Hosting and server logs

TimeKeeper is hosted on Vercel. Like most hosting providers, Vercel automatically records technical logs when your device talks to the app — your IP address, browser user-agent, the URL requested, response status, and timestamps. These logs exist to operate, secure, and debug the service, are retained only briefly (currently about an hour on our plan), and are handled by Vercel under its own privacy policy. They are not used for advertising or profiling.

TimeKeeper's own application logs record technical errors only (for example, a failed request's status). They never include your attendance entries, spreadsheet contents, or Google tokens.

Deleting your data and revoking access

• Use the Clear all data control in the app's Settings to erase your attendance entries.
• Delete the Timekeeper spreadsheet from your Google Drive to remove all stored data.
• Turn off the Daily reminder in Settings on each device to delete your reminder-registry record (or email us and we'll remove it).
• Revoke the app's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

TimeKeeper is a free, personal convenience tool provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. While we handle your data as described in this policy, to the maximum extent permitted by law TimeKeeper, its developer, and its operator are not liable for any loss or corruption of data, financial loss, or other damages arising from your use of the app — including data stored in your Google Drive, missed or incorrect reminders, or interruption or discontinuation of the service. You are responsible for keeping your own backups. See the Terms of Service for the full limitation of liability.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
